This month's issue includes at long last the BIG REVEAL of Project X!  It's very exciting! Also, some videos tips on using the mind/body connection to get into hypnosis, self hypnosis or meditation more quickly and easily; an article with three solid ways to motivate yourself--use these to move your New Year's Resolution forward!  And notice I said "Resolution." That should give you a tip about the article on a new approach to resolutions that will make you more successful. Also, research from the National Institutes of Health tells us what steps we ought to take to live longer, healthier lives.  Maybe you can use this research to decide what your resolutions will be! (I know what my favorite is!)

As always, I hope you find the articles, videos and audios informative and interesting.  If you have a suggestion for what you'd like to see here, please drop me a line and we'll get it into a future issue! Email me with suggestions or questions at Cindy@CindyLocher.com.

Project X is official out of its wraps!  It's the Lifestyle Weight Management Hypnosis Program!

I talked about this new offering on KDWA 1460 AM during this month’s Hypnosis Today Radio show, and the station owner, Dan, got very excited!  When I finished the show and opened the studio door, the rest of the station staff was there waiting for me, and the whole group immediately signed up for the program!

So, what is it that stirs up all this excitement? It’s the Lifestyle Weight Management Hypnosis system! This is a complete, nutritionally and scientifically based weight management program that includes hypnosis.  And you can participate for as low as $65!  Compare that to the ongoing cost of weight watchers, Jenny Craig, or any of the other programs out there. Here’s what you need to know about this program:

·         Combines conscious and subconscious programming, using the fastest ways to create behavioral change

·         Is NOT a diet. Does not require you to eat anything you don’t like, or give up your favorite foods.

·         Is designed to create long term weight loss. You won’t drop weight dramatically, then regain that and more a few months down the road

·         Built in support group

·         Meets the Federal Trade Commission’s requirements for realistic weight loss claims (did you even know these were out there? Hmmmm…….I wonder how  many programs today actually meet these criteria.)

OK, so how does it work?  Here are the steps:

1. Attend one of our parties and get educated on healthy, proper eating habits by a certified LWMH hypnotist. You'll be amazed at some of the information presented! You may wonder, why have I never been told this before?

2. Learn the techniques to create healthier, permanent eating habits. This program is easy to follow, does not ask you to buy different, special foods, take expensive supplements, or start a new exercise program. This program is designed to fit into your life effortlessly, and therefore, you stay on it. It's NOT a diet!

3.  Experience a light hypnosis session to fast-track these changes in your lifestyle.

4. Leave with an informative workbook, a free CD audio program to continue the work and the knowledge you need to begin losing weight immediately!

5. Do it all for a very affordable price of as low as $65 per person.  (That's about 1/2 the cost of a single private hypnosis session.)

No weighing in, no ongoing meetings to work your life around, no expensive food to buy.  Easy, safe and effective.

This program was developed by a hypnotherapist in another part of the country who has been running this program for a few years now.  It’s taken off like wildfire in other parts of the country, people have lost hundreds and hundreds of pounds (collectively, not just one person!) and I’m excited to bring it here to the Twin Cities and greater Minnesota. This program is not like anything else you’ve seen.  It pairs the science of nutrition with the science of behavioral change. Its beauty and power is in its simplicity. Because it’s simple, easy and effective you actually will do the program and continue to do the program, rather than quit, like we’ve all done with so many diets in the past.

Before this week, I had only mentioned this new program to a handful of people, and every one of them booked a party.  And now the folks at KDWA are having a party, and we’ll be tracking their weight loss every month on Hypnosis Today Radio!  Get in on this now, and imagine losing weight easily and effortlessly, creating healthy new eating behaviors that will last a lifetime.  How much healthier and happier, and thinner, can you be by spring?

Call me today to book a party at 763/218-3231, and please do feel free to pass this information on to your friends and loved ones.

Three Ways to Motivate Yourself

I hope these three articles together, this one, the article on creating habits to improve and extend your life, and my thoughts on a new approach to New Year's Resolutions, inspire you to create powerful change in your life this year!

First, these three tips to motivate yourself.  There's no one technique that works for everyone, but I'll keep sharing what I know and what I learn, and in there somewhere you will find techniques that work for you!  And that's what matters.  So here goes, for this month:

#1.  Using self hypnosis, imagine yourself at the end of your life. Look back on your life and what you've accomplished.  Do you have any regrets?  One by one, imagine your loved ones coming in as you say good bye to them.  Have you left anything out of your life?  Have you cherished your relationships as fully as you ought to have?  If not, what is the one thing you can do TODAY to start prioritizing those relationships?  No one ever, on their death bed, regrets not having spent more hours at the office.  It's always about making the most of the time we have with those we love.  This exercise can make this real for you, and if you need to re-prioritize, it's a great motivator for that.

#2. Focus on Success.  I actually have a video out on YouTube about this one.  There is a management principle that says, What you focus on improves.  They use this in manufacturing and other business areas.  The self-help version is often stated as, you get what you focus on.  It's true.  So spend time every night at the end of your day, think back to your successes.  No matter how small, the only thing you ever need to measure is your success--because that's what you want more of, right?

#3.  Learn the Art of Completion.  Successful people GET THINGS DONE.  I see many people who want to eliminate procrastination in their lives, who want to accomplish their goals and dreams, but seem to always leave things half done.  And those uncompleted tasks weigh on their minds and sap their energy, so they find themselves completing even less.  How do you break this cycle?  By setting yourself up for success, and measuring that success.  There ARE things you finish, right?  During your re-training period, note those down, get a notebook for recording THINGS I'VE FINISHED, and during this period, note down all of it, from the very simplest, "I went to work today." Set goals for yourself on a daily basis that you know you can achieve, and then when you do them, record them in your notebook and CELEBRATE them.  Review this notebook before you retire at the end of the day.  Do this over a period of a month and your subconscious will start to develop a change in your self-image, and you will start to BELIEVE in yourself as someone who finishes what they start.  And this becomes, quite simply, a habit.

If you like these tips, let me know, and I'll write more for next month!

A New Approach to New Year's Resolutions

Quite simply, most people don't achieve the goals, or "resolutions" they set for themselves at the beginning of each year.  And yet, they continue to set them, because they really do want to accomplish all these things, and make these positive changes in their lives.

The number one reason, as I see it?  People set TOO MANY and TOO HIGH of goals for themselves.  Have you done this?  Have you filled a piece of lined paper with a laundry list of things you want to change, and by golly! You're going to start changing every one of them on January 1st?!  Or, do you have one goal, but it is so big (like wholesale career change) that it really ought to be broken down into multiple, smaller goals?

Here is what I propose.  Treat your life like a corporation.  When corporate officers meet to determine the next year's strategic goals, they don't implement everything at once.  They know it would be too much change for the organization all at once, and that they don't have the manpower, financial, or other resources to tackle it all together.  But they do want to see progress toward all of these goals during the year.

So they break them up.  One initiative begins in the first quarter of the year.  Another in the second quarter, then the third and fourth.  BIG goals are broken down, and again spread out over the four quarters of the year.  Key metrics or benchmarks are put in place to measure success toward those goals (sense a theme here?).

I propose to you, choose four goals, four things that, if they all happened, would change your life.  Prioritize them.  Look for contingencies--is there one that you need to do first, that would make the others possible, or make them easier?  Put that goal in your first quarter, the next in the second, and so on.  Decide how you will measure success, and measure only your success toward those goals every day (make it part of your journaling).  Imagine by the end of the year how your life will have changed!

Taking this approach, you CAN achieve multiple goals for positive change. Not all at once, but over time, realistically, in a way that encourages you to move forward and makes success a habit.  Isn't this better than biting off more than you can chew, and then giving up?  How does that make you feel?  Crappy.  You don't want to program that into your subconscious.  Remember, to eat an elephant, take one bite at a time!

The Best Changes You Can Make (to Live a Longer and Happier Life)

If you're still deciding what those New Year's Resolutions ought to be, here's help!  Here are the Top Ten Things (sorry, Dave) you can do to live longer and be happier, according to the National Center for Health Statistics, American Heart Association and the National Institutes of Health.

(drum roll, please....!)

#1  Drink red one, one glass a day will add about 3 years to your life (hey, I'm gonna LIKE this resolution stuff!)
#2  Exercise on a regular basis will add about 4 years
#3 Have sex at least twice a week, it will add about 5 years to your life
#4 Think positive, it adds about 2 years to your life
#5 Take care of your finances.  Good financial health adds five years.
#6 Stay at a healthy BMI (Body Mass Index) and live an average of six years longer (hey, try the Lifestyle Weight Management program!)
#7 Quit Smoking, putting it out can add more than 10 years to your life!
#8.  Be female.  Ladies, we live an average of 5 years longer.  (And if we drink red wine all of that time, we'll be happy too! JK!)
#9. Eat a lot less.  A reduced calorie diet may help you live more than 10 years longer!

And finally, my personal favorite...

#10.  Meditate.  Daily meditation may cut the risk of heart attack by 30% and cancer by 49%, adding an average of 12 years to your life!   Om!!!!  Om!!!!! Om!!!!  (Omigosh, how fabulous is that?)

Until next month!

Cindy

Suffering from irrational fears
is like living life in a prison.

A prison created by your own mind.

Hypnosis
can help. You will be amazed how quickly and how much! You will learn how to be in control of your mind's reactions and your emotions.

Gaining the feeling of being in control is the #1 comment that I hear from my clients.

Do you have one of the following issues?
Call today to book your consultation or appointment:  763/218-3231

Many people refer to their reactions as anxiety, phobias, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, anxieties or panic attacks.  It is important to note that these terms have become very commonly used and often times misused.  Anxieties, phobias and panic disorders require treatment by a medical profession or mental health professional.  However, many people who call their issues by these names in fact have fears and apprehensions that can be overcome with hypnosis anxiety techniques.

Your THOUGHTS create and trigger your EMOTIONAL RESPONSE.  Your fears formed, unconsciously, when your mind associated a thought pattern and an emotional response with a stimulus.  Those fears can be released and you can learn new thought patterns to and techniques to prevent future fears from forming as well!

How does it work?

  • The relationship begins with a comprehensive intake history and surveys, conducted in person, to fully understand the genesis of your unwanted reactions, how it affects you and how you experience your feelings.
  • First, we desensitize your mind to the specific triggers that have created the negative reaction in the past.  This creates a freedom from the emotional reactions, and most people feel significantly better after just this step alone.
  • Next, we use techniques from Neuro Linguistic Programming to provide you with a new response to the situation that created the negative emotions in the past.  This new response (which can be neutral or even pleasant) replaces your previous reaction, and trains the mind the correct way to respond.  You learn, perhaps for the first time, a feeling of control over your mind's reactions.
  • Then, you are guided through a process which provides the subconscious mind with concrete evidence that you can experience the situations that caused you fear in the past in a calm, relaxed manner.  This hypnosis anxiety eliminating process is recorded for you.
  • Finally, you are taught a simple, drug-free method that you can use for a lifetime that reduces the activity in the amygdala and increases your brain's production of serotonin and beta endorphins, thereby greatly reducing the potential for further anxieties to develop in the future.

People with the following issues have been able to break out of their prison and live free again, using this process:

•  Shelly had a Fear of Public Speaking, which was significantly reduced in the very first session.  Most people realize complete reduction of their symptoms in three sessions.

•  Bruce, who suffered from panic attacks and insomnia.  Five years on anti-anxiety medicines, and after five hypnosis sessions and learning meditation, he felt able to quit his medicine.

•  Mike suffered from claustrophobia and was shipping out to Iraq.  He was afraid that his claustrophobia would kick in when he was in the armored HumVees.  After five sessions, Mike was ready, his fears behind him.

•  Alisa suffered from social apprehensions.  She was unable to ride in a car unless she was driving, unable even to eat in public--her fear made it impossible to swallow.  After just two hypnosis sessions, she ate dinner with her family at a restaurant!

•  Genie had a fear of flying and riding buses.  Since she was a student on a large campus 2,000 miles from her family, this limited her life terribly.  After three sessions, Genie flew back to her school without incident.

•  Alyssa, who suffered from test anxiety, offers the following message:

"In October of 2008, I took the ACT test. On the way to the test, I was fine, but when the time came to take the test, my nerves kicked in. During the whole test I was nervous because I knew that this test decided my future. When I received my score, I was not pleased. I let my nerves get to me.  A couple months later I decided to take the test again. I wanted help to control my nerves. Hypnosis sounded like the best option for me.
After only two sessions with Cindy, I took my ACT test.  With only two sessions, I felt my nervousness disappear. I felt very calm and relaxed. I am so glad that I decided to do hypnosis."

An Update!!  On February 25, 2009 I received this email from Alyssa:

"Hi, It is Alyssa. I came to you about test taking.

I just wanted to let you know that you helped me so much. My ACT test score went up by 2 points. (Ed. Note: 2 points on the ACT is a BIG DEAL!)

Thanks for everything, Alyssa"

And there have been many more, with similar stories. These are real results from real people with real, everyday problems that we all face from time to time, who found success using hypnosis anxiety techniques.  I love working with these issues because they respond so well to hypnosis.  But it goes beyond that.  When you work with me, you will learn new skills that will last you a lifetime.  You will learn how to recognize and control your anxiety, and when you are in control, you are out of prison for good!

Call today, don't spend another day in prison.  You will notice the difference after just one session!
